Equal parts sea foam, romance, and emotional support pirate captaiN

HELLO lovie,

I'm SARA

I’m Sara… photographer, movement lover, and water chaser inspired by evocative landscapes, embodied storytelling, and emotionally attuned experiences that help people feel fully present, connected, and alive inside their imagery.

My work exists somewhere between documentary storytelling and feminine embodiment—created for lovers, wild hearts, and women craving imagery that feels less performative and more like coming home to themselves.

People often tell me I give off “mermaid energy,” which honestly makes sense considering my lifelong attachment to the ocean, my slightly wild hair, and the fact that I’m usually trying to convince people to get in the water with me by the end of a session.

These days, you’ll usually find me somewhere between Florida’s sun-soaked Gulf Coast, Pennsylvania's hidden springs, and historic seaside towns like Cape May with occasional wandering toward Icelandic landscapes, Mediterranean coastlines, Southeast Asian waters, Scottish fairy glens, and other beautifully humbling corners of this world.

I’m a homebody with loose roots, drawn equally to quiet moments and meaningful adventure, and I’ll follow you anywhere your heart feels most alive.

Imagery that feels deeply lived-in

softening into
the MOMENT

My approach is rooted in embodiment, emotional safety, and creating experiences that feel genuinely lived-in, meaningful, and FUN rather than overly posed.

With 10+ years in the wedding industry alongside my training in somatics, yoga, reiki, breathwork, and sensory-led facilitation—I uniquely guide sessions in a way that helps you soften, stay present, and truly embrace the sensuality of moment you’re in.

The most meaningful imagery rarely comes from perfect posing. Through movement, breath, environment, humor, and connection, my goal is to help you feel less like you’re performing for a camera and more like you’re fully embodying your experience.

It comes from the wind tangling your hair. From laughter breaking through nerves. From sunlight warming your skin. From fingertips brushing bare shoulders and hands instinctively finding one another. From tears gathering mid-vow. From the exhale that happens when you finally stop trying so hard and simply allow yourself to be there while life unfolds around you.

WHO IS THis MERMAID PIRATE CAPTAIN?

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

A little collection of passions, personality traits, life plot twists, and oddly specific details that make me… ME. I’m basically an open book with good lighting, a slight ocean obsession, and a relentless urge to romanticize everyday life.

Home Life

I married my husband Kevin in 2020 when we eloped along the coast of Acadia National Park (yes, right in the middle of Covid) and renewed our vows on a dreamy beach cliff in Bali in 2026. We actually met online back in 2014 — before dating apps were considered normal and not mildly embarrassing to admit.

After spending the first chapter of our marriage in Pennsylvania, we’re beginning a new adventure along Florida’s Gulf Coast in Spring 2027. While Florida will become home base, you’ll still find me spending part of each season wandering back toward Cape May, Vermont, and the Pocono Mountains where my family hosts cozy nature stays tucked into the landscape.

No little ones at the moment, but we do share life with our two rescue pups: Reese, our mini Australian Shepherd nugget, and Ginger, our golden-retriever-shaped shadow. Together, Kevin and I love slow beach days, nature walks with the pups, nights around a fire, teaching Kev yoga, spontaneous outdoor adventures, and occasionally demolishing sweet treats while binge-watching Below Deck together on the couch.

My Journey to How I Got Here

Photography: I’ve been immersed in photography for over a decade, first picking up my dad's camera in high school and college before going full-time in 2017 after spending two years in the graphic design industry. Through workshops, mentorships, internships, and underwater photography training across North America, I’ve developed my signature cinematic, emotionally immersive, and environment-led approach that defines my work today. I am also proud to be a certified Leave No Trace Aware photographer.

Wellness: Over the last three years, I’ve immersed myself in studies centered around embodiment, movement, nervous system awareness, and energetic healing. My training background includes Usui Reiki, Light Language, Feminine Embodiment, Trauma-Informed Breath Work, 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, Sensual Somatic & Yin Body Poetry, and Ocean & Forest Therapy. The doorway into all of this began through a life coaching container in 2022—a chapter that deeply reshaped both my personal life and the way I hold space for others in this industry. Three Unexpected Plot Twists

Adult Acne: After years of trying prescriptions (including Accutane) with little success, I eventually realized my body was asking for something deeper. Shifting toward more plant-forward meals, antibiotic-free meat, and moderating my gluten and dairy intake completely transformed my skin. I’ve officially been acne-free for 2 years now, which honestly still feels like one of my proudest adult accomplishments.

Marriage Through Thick & Thin: Walking alongside my husband through his alcoholism recovery journey unexpectedly deepened my understanding of emotional safety, nervous system awareness, healing, and what it truly means to love someone through transformation. Somewhere within that season, I also found my calling toward embodiment, healing work, and creating spaces where people feel genuinely supported, witnessed, and safe to soften.

Movement IS Medicine: After nearly a decade of photographing weddings while swinging between overexercising, barely slowing down long enough to care for myself, and going total couch potato, my body eventually forced me to reevaluate everything. Learning to heal through balanced movement, nervous system regulation, embodiment practices, strength training, yoga, and deeper self-awareness completely changed my relationship with both my body and mind.

Places I've Travelled

Within the US: Most of the East Coast U.S. (Maine–Florida & the surrounding States), Hawaii, Tennessee, California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Ohio, & Illinois. I might have missed some, there are so many!

Internationally: Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Iceland (Reykjavík, the Golden Circle, South Coast), Tulum, Greece (Milos, Santorini, Athens), Thailand (Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi, Khao Sok), Canada (BC, Alberta, Quebec), Bali, Scotland, Paris, London, & Australia (Sydney, Jervis Bay)

Fantasy, Dark Romance & SMUT Lover

My Many Side Quests

Outside of work, I’m currently learning pottery on the wheel, trying (and failing) to become impressively good at pickleball, attempting to be the best plant and garden mom possible, and lovingly caring for my sourdough starter like it’s a third pet.

I’m forever pretending I know what I’m doing with watercolor, highly susceptible to crafty DIYs, and known to turn the house into a fully themed experience for just about any holiday or gathering.

And I’m physically incapable of leaving a beach without collecting seashells like they might somehow help pay for dinner later.

SISTER TEAM SINCE 2017

how I BUILT
this buisness

I’ve been documenting love around the world with a camera professionally for a decade now. Since day one, I have shot with all Canon equipement. My favorite line up currently is the mirrorless line with my 28-70mm and 70-200mm using super funky creative hacks like my trusty pantyhose over the lens trick (it'll make sense later, trust me). My gear, connection to nature, compositional eye, and storytelling techniques are all one fraction of my decade-long business success; the other is my team.

That’s where my sister, Bri, comes in. A passionate historic romance writer and my creative counterpart since the very beginning, she’s the backbone of our editing, heirloom design, and coverage planning process. She also coordinates our Nature Dining experiences, serves as an incredibly detail-oriented micro wedding planner, and occasionally steps into a hybrid photo/video support role on wedding days. Oh, and if you’re dreaming of Scotland, she’s basically our in-house expert on all things misty, whimsical, and Highlands-related.

FUN FACT ABOUT BRI...

IF I AM A MERMAID PIRATE CAPTAIN

Then my sister, Bri, is a Scottish Time Traveller.

A few years ago, before she was helping couples plan unforgettable celebrations of her own, we photographed her multi-day Highland elopement across Scotland. Every detail was chosen with whimsy and a right-to-roam spirit—from an authentic handfasting ceremony and a handmade corset wedding gown to a dried thistle bouquet and Zach's traditional Scottish kilt. Together, we wandered through ancient castles, misty glens, and quiet villages, embracing the slower pace that makes destination celebrations feel so magical.

That experience forever shaped the way we approach multi-day elopements: less rushing, more exploring; less performing, more presence. We believe the places you choose deserve to be experienced just as much as they're photographed.

editing that feels...

warm yet true to enviroment

Bri and I have this beautiful team dynamic.

I shoot and she edits. We share the rest.

We developed our editing style together. Inspired by the natural tones of nature, sun-kissed skin, lightly enhanced contrast, yet entirely timeless. We also love showering you with extra bonus photos edited in a nostalgic film style, black and white, and creative landscape cropping.
